Description

Pharmacokinetics:

Eutylone is a stimulant compound that was developed and patented back in 1969 [1]. Today, it’s made a comeback as a synthetic cathinone, typically used in bath salt blends. Its structural features are related to not just cathinones, but also amphetamines and pyrovalerone. The effect is stimulatory, entactogenic and psychedelic.

The full name for eutylone is 1-(1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-2-(ethylamino)-1-butanone, monohydrochloride, and its molecular formula is (C13H17NO3 • HCl). Eutylone is the beta-keto analogue of MBDB and the substituted methylenedioxyphenethylamine analogue of buphedrone [2].

Scientific Studies:

Eutylone has been studied by the scientific community in the context of its identification and quantification in blood and urine [3, 4]. Additionally, a 2014 study published in “Advances in Pharmacology” discussed the effects of eutylone on the human dopamine transporter, which result in amphetamine-like reactions, such as increased locomotor action [5].
