Description
Pharmacokinetics:
NDH is a synthetic cathinone with a byutl group substitution for the second and fourth hydrogen groups in the original cathinone molecule [1]. It’s also known as N-Isobutylhexedrone. It acts as a stimulant by blocking the reuptake of noradrenaline and dopamine, increasing extracellular levels of these neurotransmitters in the brain. This results in better mood levels, increased locomotor activity, focus and concentration, increased stamina, appetite suppression and an enhanced sense of touch [2].
The structure of NDH is derived from phenylalkylamine which structurally resembles the molecule of amphetamine. It has a carbonyl group in the α-position of the side chain adjacent to the aromatic ring [3].
Scientific Studies:
In a study published in “Forensic Toxicology” in 2018, researchers looked at the molecular structure of NDH in comparison to other synthetic cathinones. They found that butylone-based synthetic cathinones like NDH have a chemical structure more similar to MDMA (ecstasy), and their pharmacological effect is closer to that of MDMA compared to other cathinone compounds [3].
