MPHP-2201, also called 5F-MPhP-PICA and 5F-MPP-PICA, is a lesser-known analogue of the well-known AM2201 synthetic cannabinoid. Its scientific nomenclature is written as methyl (1-(5-fluoropentyl)-1H-indole-3-carbonyl)-L-phenylalaninate, and abbreviated as C24H27FN2O3 . As an indole-based synthetic cannabinoid, MPHP-2201 has an indole core and a naphthyl moiety, and a strong affinity for CB1 cannabinoid receptors .
MPHP-2201 hasn’t been officially studied or reported on in scientific journals. However, it’s most structurally similar to AM2201, which is a fluorinated analogue of JWH018. Based on anecdotal evidence, it’s virtually interchangeable with AM2201. In an in-depth study on AM2201 published in “Behavioral Pharmacology,” researchers determined that the substance has a half-life of just 1 hour, and that it favors the CB1 cannabinoid receptor over the CB2 receptor. When researchers fed AM2201 to one group of mice and THC to another group, they found that AM2201 produced similar effects in the mice as THC, but the most notable variation was the shorter duration of effects .
